PROJECT PROFILES

The GIFT training centre is located
in Mandalay in the centre of Burma and began training its 19th batch of students in May this

These
5 students have a vision to reach their own people, the Pwo Karen tribe. After the in-house training, the students
will go to their own villages for the 9 months on-the-job training. They will
return to the GIFT center for a one-month final training to complete their 1-year course.
It is expected that the cost of
training for this year will be about $10,000. Our goal is $8,000. Amount still
needed: $4,302.00

During their trip to NE India, a Mission
Outreach team will be participating in five medical clinics. An Indian
Christian doctor will see to the health and medical needs of hundreds of people
while the team talked to and pray for the patients. These medical outreaches
are highly effective evangelistic tools and are conducted in villages where a

all of you who so generously gave. May the Lord richly bless and prosper you
LAOS
Livelihood
and Bible Training
A Christian worker in Laos provides
livelihood training coupled with discipleship training. The livelihood training
includes instruction on the making of fertilizer, the growing of crops such as
coffee, melons and vegetables, and as well fish and cricket farming. While
doing the livelihood training the trainers are also able to teach the Bible to
their students, many of whom are the pastors of village churches. This project
ministers to both the spiritual and material needs of the community.
Mission Outreach would like to support two of the five trainings planned
for five different locations in 2009. Each centre will train 20 students annually and will cost about $2,000
($100 per student). Total cost $4000.00, amount still needed: $2,224.00
CAMBODIA
Help for the Poor Orphanage
Help for the Poor Orphanage is situated in Phnom Penh, Cambodia and is currently
home to 30 children. The children come to the orphanage through a variety of avenues.
Some are left anonymously at the gates of the orphanage, while are others are
rescued by Christian workers when their families become victims of domestic
violence. The day-to-day care of the children is provided by the
Evangelical Fellowship of Cambodia. Mission Outreach would like to provide
funds for the children’s education. Cost: $12/child/month for 30 children: $360
per month or $4320 for the year. Amount still needed: $1,444.00
Leadership Training
In Cambodia 85% of the
churches are part of the Evangelical Fellowship of Cambodia. Much help is
available through Christian NGO’s to assist in meeting the material needs of
the Cambodian people, but there remains a pressing need to re-build the
Cambodian Church. Mission Outreach supports training for churches and pastors
to build up the spiritual capacity of the Cambodian church, which faces
increasing pressure from the dominant Buddhist religion and Islam.
One Church Empowerment Programme for 200 Pastors and Church Leaders: $4,500.00
VIETNAM
Mnong Tribal Bible
There are approximately 80,000 Mnong tribal people who live in Dac lac and
Lamdong provinces in the southern part of Vietnam. There
are about 40,000 known Christians from among the two of its three major
subgroups. Missionaries translated the New Testament in the Central Mnong group language
(the largest group of Christians with about 36,000 members) but the original
copy of the translation was lost when the missionaries were forced to leave the
country during the Indo-China war in 1975.
Today, the new translation has been completed and this year, Mission Outreach
hopes to provide 500 copies of the Mnong & Vietnamese (bi-lingual) New Testament.
Pray that the Lord protect the Bibles we are printing and plan to distribute to
the growing Mnong Christian population.
Cost to print, deliver and distribute:
$8/copy project total: $4,000, amount still needed: $2,109.00
