Eddie's Updates:
2008

Eddie Cairns founded Mission Outreach in 1975, he still serves on the board today.

Fire in My Bones!
“I charge you, therefore, before God …. preach the Word … endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist … bring him with thee … bring the books, but especially the parchments.” (2 Timothy 4v1-13) “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest that he would send forth labourers into the harvest.” (Luke 10v2).

Over the years these scriptures have burned like a fire in my bones. The eldest of six children, I was converted in my late teens and immediately began to labour for the Lord in Sunday school, youth work and street preaching. I was married at the age of 21 to a girl from a secure Christian background who had a wise and responsible attitude towards the spreading of the gospel. We were always deeply involved in any evangelistic effort.

In 1975 God called a number of us to start Mission Outreach, New Zealand’s mission to the suffering church. Gradually the work has built up to a point where I now work with a Board under a team structure. The job is too great and the time is too short for any one man. As the board and I work together now as a team, we pray that we will accomplish more in these end times for the glory of God.

“Do the work of an evangelist.” Tell others! God has given us many souls.

“Bring him with thee.” Get every Christian involved in their God-given ministry. I love to help others find their place in the Kingdom.

“Bring books.” This is a great request for God’s Word. Will you join us in meeting this need?

“Send forth labourers.” Thrust them out. I began to pray this prayer and the Lord thrust me out! This is now my life and I can think of nothing more satisfying than being a channel of blessing to the suffering church.
