International Day of Prayer

For the Persecuted Church

From small Beginnings...
Mission Outreach began in New Zealand in 1975 when several brothers became concerned about the welfare of Christians in restricted countries. We became sensitive to their needs for prayer, encouragement and Bibles. We observed their afflictions, but also noticed how they increased greatly in faith and grew in number under severe testing. With God’s guidance we began to identify with their situation and minister to their needs. The ministry is now established, with bases in Tauranga (New Zealand) and Sydney (Australia). Mission Outreach is an interdenominational group whose aim is to support and resource God’s people through specific and varied projects.

Penetrate and Motivate
Obedience to the divine command in Mark 16:15, “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature,” means we must penetrate every border in every nation with God’s Word. The ministry of Mission Outreach Includes:

  • The provision and personal delivery of Bibles, medical assistance and training materials to persecuted believers in restricted countries.
  • The support of indigenous personnel who train nationals in sharing the Gospel message, and who prepare them for suffering at the hands of hostile political regimes.
  • The care of orphans and impoverished children.
  • The research and development of ‘micro-enterprise’ opportunities to enhance the livelihood of local communities.
  • Strategic intercessory prayer journeys into ‘access restricted’ nations.
  • The support of television and radio programming into communities that have limited knowledge of Jesus’ message.
  • The motivation of churches and prayer groups to become involved with suffering believers through prayer, giving and going.

Identifying with the Suffering Church
Mission Outreach networks closely with other missions in meeting the needs of the suffering church. Printing Bibles is only a part. There are many miles to be travelled and borders to be crossed before these are safely hand-delivered to those who eagerly await their arrival.

Praying, Giving, Going
Our teams travel mainly into Asia, taking God’s word and encouragement to pastors and believers. Upon receiving a request from a restricted country, we prayerfully take up the challenge to encourage Christians in free countries to support their brothers and sisters in the suffering church through praying, giving and going.

Across the Board Involvement
Teams are made up of individuals from many walks of life. From students and children, to retirees and pastors. All work together to bless the suffering church.

Move with Mission Outreach
This website represents our invitation to you to join with us in this important ministry. As a supporter you will receive regular news and prayer letters. Your identification with the suffering and emerging church may prompt you to help us purchase and deliver Bibles or provide assistance with the many project opportunities that exist.

"And the Word of God kept spreading and the number of disciples continued to increase greatly" -Acts 6v7

Statement of Faith
We believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; and in Jesus Christ His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit; born of the Virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilot; was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell, the third day rose again from the dead; He ascended to heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty, from where He will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy Christian Church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and life everlasting.
Amen
